Which Winter Park, Colorado hiking trails are open for the 2020 summer season?

Currently, the following Fraser Valley hiking trails are slated to be open for the 2020 Summer. Click the links for Google Map directions,

  1. Second Creek / Broome Hut: 5 miles // 700’  gain
  2. Deadhorse Loop Trail: 7.1 miles  // 1,414′ gain
  3. Columbine Lake Trail: 7 miles // 1,102′ gain (dependent on snow)
  4. Byers Peak Trail: 9.1 miles // 2,988′ gain
  5. Rogers Pass: 5 miles // 941′ gain
  6. St. Louis Trail: 9.3 miles // 1,784′ gain

Winter Park Hiking Trail Closures for Summer 2020

Due to planned construction and trail reconstruction projects, the following trails will likely be inaccessible for the duration of the summer:

  1. Devil’s Thumb Ranch Trail
  2. Jim Creek Trail
  3. Fraser River Trail
  4. Buck Creek Trail
  5. Vasquez Ridge / Road
  6. Yankee Doodle Trail
  7. Meadow Trail
  8. Leland Creek Trail

The following may be closed:

  • Double Bit
  • Broken Spade
  • Burnout Loop
  • Rollins Pass

Note: Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP), located 44 minutes from Winter Park, plans to increase recreational access and services in a phased reopening beginning May 27, including shuttle bus operations within the Bear Lake Road corridor.
